Chicago Teen Birth Rates Map

An article developed with a Northwestern public health team to review changes in Chicago teen birth rates came out over the summer. I was fortunate to work with the group, and really enjoyed developing the map for publication. I used OpenStreetMap roads and Tile Mill to develop a black and white visualization to meet author and editor specifications.

You can find the article, Change in Population Characteristics and Change in Teen Birth Rates in 77 Chicago Community Areas, 1999-2009, in the July/August 2015 edition of Public Health Reports.
